Spring Break at Elohim Academy in the Bronx

In the spring of 2024, middle, high school, and university students attended the week-long Elohim Academy in the Bronx during their school break. The students spent their days in Bible studies and fun, interactive sessions, so they could stay focused and live a balanced spiritual life when they returned to school.

Jasmin Rodriguez, a high school student, shared, “Through hearing the words of God and studying the Bible, I came to realize our God Elohim. I felt my faith grow more and more. That’s why I want to keep studying Father and Mother’s words to stay focused on what’s most important.”  Each day, the students stepped out of their comfort zones and gained new perspectives by participating in the activities.

Building Strong Character at Elohim Academy

The academy also emphasized character development, helping students apply the Bible’s teachings in their everyday lives. University student Ivelisse Almonte reflected, “I want to practice what Father and Mother did for me by taking care of my brothers and sisters with the same heart as my heavenly parents.”  This focus on caring for others, just as God cares for us, helped them understand what it really means to follow God’s example—being kind, patient, and compassionate towards others.

A Learning Adventure in D.C.

The week concluded with a visit to the Bible Museum in Washington, D.C., where students explored exhibits about the Bible’s history. Seeing the scriptures presented in a visual way was exciting and brought the Bible to life.

Though many students spend their spring break relaxing, the students from the Church of God chose to invest this time in connecting with God and building their character. Now, they put into practice everything they’ve learned—at school, at home, and at church.
