Holy Trinity

The Meaning of the Holy Trinity

The word “trinity” means that God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit are not three separate entities, but one and the same. It’s important to understand the Trinity to fully understand God.

The Trinity is comparable to the transformation of water (H2O) from solid to liquid to gas. While the appearance and the name of H2O change as it goes through the different states, it remains the same chemical compound: H2O. In the same way, God played the role of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit for our salvation.

According to the biblical prophecies, God the Father Jehovah would take on human form (Isa 9:6), being born as a child, as a son.

“For to us a child is born, to us a son is given ... he will be called ... Mighty God, Everlasting Father.”

Jesus Christ fulfilled this prophecy; and the disciples who walked with Him understood realized this. That is why Apostle Paul wrote that we must resemble the humility of Christ, who was God in the flesh.

“You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. Though he was God...”

Philippians 2:5–6 (NLT)

The prophet Isaiah wrote that God the Father Jehovah would be born as a child in human form. Apostle Paul testified that Jesus fulfilled this prophecy and was God in the flesh.

The Bible also teaches us that God the Father Jehovah is God the Holy Spirit (1 Co 2:10–11), and God the Son Jesus is God the Holy Spirit (1 Jn 2:1; Jn 14:26).

Just as H2O transforms in appearance and name as it changes state yet remains the same chemical compound, God the Father Jehovah, and God the Son Jesus, and God the Holy Spirit are all the same one God.
