On July 16, 2025, the United Nations Staff Recreation Council (UNSRC) Elohim Club, together with the Permanent Mission of the Kingdom of Lesotho to the United Nations, hosted the Global Forum on Ending Plastic Pollution. The forum took place during the United Nations High-Level Political Forum (HLPF) 2025. ASEZ WAO, the young adult worker volunteer group of the Church of God, was invited as an honorary guest in recognition of its global efforts to combat plastic pollution.
The UNSRC Elohim Club is working to build partnerships with individuals, organizations, governments, and communities to eliminate plastic waste. These efforts align with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), especially Goal 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, and Goal 14: Life Below Water. The Club aims to accelerate progress by involving key stakeholders and mobilizing youth as environmental leaders.

Addressing Plastic Pollution with Practical Solutions
The forum focused on three main objectives: reducing plastic use, adopting eco-friendly alternatives, and promoting resource circulation. Leaders from the UN, plastic policy experts, professionals in medicine and manufacturing, and youth leaders gathered to discuss the challenges of plastic pollution and share actionable solutions.
The event also supported the UN HLPF 2025 theme, “Advancing sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and its SDGs for leaving no one behind.” By uniting experts and emerging leaders, the forum helped advance global dialogue on reducing plastic waste and promoting sustainable living practices.
