ASEZ STAR Teacher Appreciation Banquet in the Bronx

On May 4, 2025, during Teacher Appreciation Week, ASEZ STAR hosted a banquet honoring local teachers. The event brought together students, educators, and community members to celebrate teachers’ vital role in shaping our future.

The banquet featured a formal dinner, a tribute video, special performances, and a presentation honoring teachers as unsung heroes. Each part of the event focused on showing sincere gratitude and recognizing how much teachers impacted their students and communities.

Inspiring Respect and Responsibility

The event expressed sincere appreciation for teachers who educate and inspire future leaders. It also helped strengthen bonds between students, schools, and the wider community. The banquet also highlighted the Good Student project, which promotes respect for teachers, responsibility, and social contribution among students. Together, these efforts helped create a better society.

High school sophomore Melany Rodriguez said, “Teachers are the only reason why other careers exist and are successful. I hope to grow up to be a teacher who cares and inspires others in the same way my teachers have.”

Ms. Lorelie Racelis, a high school teacher, shared, “I was moved by the messages of the students. They’re not my kids, they’re not my students, but I felt the truth in their heart of appreciating what we’re doing for them. You don’t get that every day, and this event really gave me that feeling of worth as a teacher and I’m thankful for ASEZ. Thank you to all the kids. Thank you to the Church who organized this, it’s a beautiful feeling and thank you!”
